Crock Pot Lasagna
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
24 oz marinara sauce
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper, to taste
9 lasagna noodles, uncooked
15 oz ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (optional garnish)
Directions:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add garlic, marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the crock pot.
Break lasagna noodles to fit and layer over the sauce.
Spread ricotta mixture over noodles, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese.
Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with sauce and mozzarella on top.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours.
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
