Full Recipe Here >>> Golden Crepes – a light and delicious treat, perfect for breakfast or dessert!
Ingredients:
For the Crepes:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2 large eggs
1 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
1 tsp sugar (optional for sweet crepes)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional for extra flavor)
Pinch of salt
For the Filling (optional):
Nutella or chocolate spread (or any spread of your choice)
Fresh fruits (banana slices, berries, etc.)
Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Crepe Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, eggs, sugar (if using), vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt.
Add the vegetable oil or melted butter and whisk until the batter is smooth and lump-free. The batter should be thin but smooth (like heavy cream). If the batter is too thick, add a little more milk to adjust the consistency.
2. Cook the Crepes:
Heat a non-stick skillet or crepe pan over medium heat. Lightly grease the pan with butter or oil, and wipe off any excess with a paper towel.
Pour a small amount of batter into the pan (about ¼ cup) and immediately tilt the pan to spread the batter evenly over the surface.
Cook the crepe for 1-2 minutes until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden brown. Flip the crepe using a spatula or gently with your fingers, and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute on the other side until golden.
Remove the cooked crepe from the pan and place it on a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, stacking the crepes on top of each other.
3. Assemble the Crepes:
Once all the crepes are cooked, you can fill them with your desired fillings. A simple and popular filling is Nutella or chocolate spread, but you can also use fresh fruits, whipped cream, or even a savory filling like cheese and spinach.
To fill, spread your desired filling across the center of each crepe, and then roll or fold the crepes into a cylinder or triangle shape.
4. Serve:
Serve your golden crepes warm, drizzled with syrup, a dusting of powdered sugar, or topped with more fresh fruits or whipped cream.
Enjoy with a hot cup of coffee or tea!
