This method gives you that crispy salty skin and soft, fluffy center just like steakhouse potatoes.

Bake: 45–60 minutes

4 potatoes

🥔 Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes (best for baking)

1–2 tbsp olive oil

1–2 tsp coarse salt

½ tsp black pepper (optional)

Butter (for serving)

Fresh chives or parsley (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Potatoes

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

Scrub potatoes clean and dry completely.

Pierce each potato 5–6 times with a fork (prevents bursting).

2️⃣ Season

Rub each potato with olive oil.

Sprinkle generously with coarse salt (this makes crispy skin).

Add black pepper if desired.

3️⃣ Bake

Place directly on oven rack (for crispier skin)
OR on a baking sheet.

Bake 45–60 minutes until:

Skin is crispy

Fork slides in easily

Internal temp is about 205°F

4️⃣ Fluff & Finish

Slice open immediately while hot.

Squeeze ends gently to fluff interior.

Add butter right away so it melts inside.

Sprinkle with chives or herbs.
