🥞🤍 BISCUITS & GRAVY — MORNING COMFORT THAT NEVER HURRIED 🤍🥞
Some mornings didn’t start with an alarm.
They started with the sound of a skillet warming up,
the smell of sausage browning slow,
and the quiet promise that today, at least, everyone would eat well.
Biscuits and gravy was my grandma’s way of gathering people before the day pulled them apart.
She made it on mornings when the house was still sleepy,
when coffee was strong,
and when no one was in a rush — because love doesn’t clock in late.
🥞🍳 GRANDMA’S BISCUITS & GRAVY RECIPE 🍳🥞
Ingredients:
For the Biscuits:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup cold butter, cubed
¾ cup milk
For the Gravy:
1 lb breakfast sausage
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt (to taste)
🌼 Biscuits – Folded With Care
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in the cold butter until crumbly —
grandma believed cold hands made tender biscuits.
Stir in the milk just until combined.
Pat the dough gently, fold once or twice, and cut out biscuits.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden and proud.
🤍 Gravy – Built Slowly
Brown the sausage in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks.
Sprinkle in the flour and stir —
this is where patience starts to matter.
Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly.
Let it simmer until thick and creamy.
Season with salt and plenty of black pepper —
grandma liked her gravy honest and bold.
✨ Bringing It Together – The Best Part
Split a warm biscuit open.
Spoon the gravy generously over the top.
No measuring.
No holding back.
Because this wasn’t breakfast meant to be polite —
it was meant to stay with you.
🕊️ More Than a Meal
Biscuits and gravy is quiet mornings,
shared tables,
and the kind of comfort that doesn’t need explaining.
It’s proof that the best days
often start with something simple,
made slowly,
and served with love 🤍
